Crook County Museum
During your stay in Sundance, be sure to visit the Crook County Museum & Art Gallery, located inside the beautifully restored Old Stoney building in downtown Sundance. Originally built in 1923 as a school, Old Stoney is now home to the museum, art gallery, gift shop, event space and community cultural center.
Explore Wyoming’s outlaw, homesteader and prehistoric history through exhibits, and artifacts including the original courtroom where the Sundance Kid stood trial. Vore Buffalo Jump
The Vore Buffalo Jump offers a fascinating look into more than 250 years of Native American history and one of the most important archaeological sites in the region.
Guided tours are led by trained interpretive staff and explore how Plains tribes used the natural sinkhole to hunt bison. Exhibits highlight traditional hunting methods, tools, artifacts and the important role buffalo played in everyday life. Family-friendly displays and activities make the site fun and educational for all ages. Open seasonally from June through Labor Day.
Devils Tower National Monument
America’s first national monument is just a short scenic drive from Sundance. Towering above the Wyoming landscape, Devils Tower National Monument offers hiking trails, incredible photography, wildlife viewing and world-famous rock climbing.
Walk the paved trail around the base of the Tower, learn about its cultural significance and watch climbers scale one of the region’s most iconic landmarks.

History
Year round, take a self-guided walking tour of the town and meet the Sundance Kid. In July and August, enjoy a guided stroll into the past of the Sundance Territory and meet historical figures and notorious outlaws on the Sip and Walk. Fun for the entire family, it includes a souvenir tin cup.
